"One of our Own"

(New Man, America's #1 magazine for Christian men, published four articles in its July/August 2007 edition on the race to become America's next president. This is an excerpt from one of those articles. The reader is encouraged to get the magazine and read all four articles.)

By Thomas J. Harrington and Anthony Bonna

Mike Huckabee is pro-life, pro-family and the happily married father of three who is a former pastor. After being governor of Arkansas for 10 years, he may be the best qualified candidate to become U.S. president in 2008.

His name might not be familiar yet. You haven't seen him on Oprah or spotted his face on the cover of Time magaine. Yet when it comes to character, experience, and the qualities of a great leader, Mike Huckabee has them.

Don't be misled by the news coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign. Based on the media's whim and the ever-changing mood of a drama-hungry public, an artificial top tier of presidential candidates is being presented.

These "frontrunners" often have more style than substance and better marketability than morality. Catapulted to prominence, they steal the spotlight from more worthy candidates, who suffer the silent death of media neglect.

This image-making affects even Christian voters. Rather than supporting someone who represents our core values, we compromise, opting for a candidate simply because we are told that he or she can win.

Let's stop this trend. As Christian men we have a duty to help shape the future of our country.

(ed. note-Please pick up a copy of the New Man magazine. It lays out well the case for Mike Huckabee to win the presidency!)

We have this issue of the magazine, and there are several good sections about Governor Huckabee ... unfortunately, the popular media doesn't report on these endorsements because they don't want the truth to get out. Thanks for spotlighting it here on your blog.

What are Evangelicals doing? Stop the hate. Stop the anti-mormonism. It is rampant among your people. Stop the anti-semitic feelings. Are you not ashamed, is this America or Germany circa 1930's?

Watch this before you vote:

Hershel I, as well as many others
agree with you.
We could use your help.
We are seeking ministers that will be county coordinators, one for each county in the nation.
As a coordinator they would find volunteers for each church in the county to contact all the members of their church to tell them about Mike Huckabee.(Larger cities
would have a coordinator for each ward.)
Would you consider being a county coordinator and also posting this comment on your blog so that other ministers can see it. Thereby
spreading the word about Mike
and this idea to all those who
would like to participate.
IN GOD WE TRUST!!
